Skyline Gridiron Club (SGC), a 501C3 organization, was founded in 2001 by alumni parents of the Skyline High School Football program, as a community organization after winning the first state championship. The relationships developed in the early years with coaches, players and families set the foundation for the culture of support that is well-known locally and around the country.
Our mission is to establish, cultivate and maintain the highest level of relationships with and between the Skyline Spartan Football Program of Sammamish, Washington and it various constituencies.
We promote an awareness and appreciation of the entire football program which results in an increase of resources to invest and enhance the growth and development of the players, coaches and seasons of play.
Whether attending Friday night games or off season activities, Spartan Fans are always welcomed to get involved with Skyline Gridiron Club.
Why is SGC here?
Sports assist students with developing skills needed in life and involvement in athletics provides opportunities that enhance the high school experience as well as developing school and community pride. It also develops leaders.
Other organizations, such as Issaquah School District, ASB, Booster Club, stretch their resources to support academic and other extra-curricular activities.
Skyline Gridiron Club dedicates itself solely to support the Skyline High School Spartan Football Program. We assist wherever needed which allows the coaching staff more time with the student athletes.
With all the activities in our community, it's important for SGC to be a leader in fostering cooperation, coordination, collaboration and communication in and around Sparta.
Since our inception, many other Spartan sports have reached out to SGC for assistance. And in the Spirit of Sparta, we have assisted by providing websites and other guidance in their fund raising efforts. We support many community based local programs such as Skyline Youth Football Association, Generation Joy, Athletes for Kids, Issaquah Schools Foundation, as well as efforts in many of our local elementary/middle schools.
Why is SGC different?
Management of SGC is done by a voluntary Board of Directors comprised of alumni parents or players.
Remembering that the program is bigger than any one season or individual, SGC helps decisions to remain focused and balanced for the entire program, rather than any one element. Other programs struggle with a structure that allows for distractions and re-direction to the business of the organization, which can affect consistency in activities or operations and can result in conflicts between vested parties
