Team Physician
Dr. Michael Sailer, MD has enjoyed working with Skyline athletes, parents, coaches and trainers since the school’s inception. He feels privileged to have had a sideline view of the four State Championship teams and has enjoyed the many successful years of Skyline Football and other sports.
Raised in Seattle, Dr. Sailer lives in Bellevue with his wife and three children. His sons regularly enjoy the “Friday Night Lights” and both want to grow up to be Skyline players someday. In his free time, he enjoys water and snow skiing, helping with his sons’ sports teams, and spending time with his family.
After completing residency training and a year on the faculty at the University of Washington in 1992, he decided to further specialize in Sport Medicine and the treatment of athletes (both real ones and weekend warriors!) He spent a year at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, CO, caring for athletes from the US Ski Team, Denver Rockies, Denver Broncos, Vail Avalanche Hockey and many well-known athletes and celebrities from all over the world. He returned home in 1994 to start his sports medicine practice in Bellevue and Issaquah.
He is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, and a member of Proliance Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine with offices in Bellevue on the Overlake Hospital campus, and a new office in the Issaquah Highlands. The facilities feature state of the art surgical suites, Physical Therapy and diagnostic imaging equipment.
